Catching It Early Changes the Story: Citrojugo’s Commitment to Our Team’s Health

There’s one fact that should change the way we talk about breast cancer: when caught early, survival odds climb above 90%. That’s the story we want to tell this month at Citrojugo: not one of fear, but one of action, information, and lives transformed when diagnosis comes in time.

What the numbers say and why they matter

In Mexico, breast cancer remains the leading cause of death from malignant tumors among women, with a rate of 18.7 deaths per 100,000 women over age 20 in 2024. It’s a number that raises concern, yes, but it’s also a number that can shift when timely detection becomes a habit instead of an exception.

The science is clear: when the disease is caught early, life expectancy and survival rates are very high, and it can even be curable in its initial stages. And that’s the key: early detection is decisive for improving prognosis, since it allows for more effective treatments and significantly higher survival rates.

Mammograms play a central role in this story. As specialist Arce Salinas explains, this screening doesn’t prevent cancer from occurring, but it does allow it to be diagnosed at curable stages, in other words, it’s the tool that turns a feared diagnosis into a real opportunity for successful treatment.

From statistics to action: what we do at Citrojugo

These numbers don’t just stay as information, we turn them into concrete decisions within our company.

  • We talk about it openly, without taboos. We create spaces where our team can learn about risk factors, warning signs, and the importance of self-exams, without fear or silence.
  • We provide access to mammograms performed at a specialized center, removing one of the most common barriers to timely detection: cost and logistics.
  • We amplify the message. Through our channels and every person who’s part of Citrojugo, we work to spread this information to more families and communities, not just within our own walls.

A cause we build together

The data reminds us of something powerful: early detection isn’t just a survival statistic, it’s the difference between a simple treatment and a complex one, between a full recovery and an uncertain prognosis. At Citrojugo, we believe that informing, providing access, and keeping the conversation going, all year, not just in October, is our way of contributing so more people get the chance to write a recovery story.
