Prevention is a fundamental element in any workplace and community environment. This morning, Citrojugo actively participated in the First Statewide Earthquake Drill, organized by Civil Protection, with the purpose of remembering and honoring the memory of the January 21, 2003 earthquake, an event that deeply marked the Colima region and its surrounding areas.

That earthquake, with an estimated magnitude of 7.6 Mw off the coast of Colima, was one of the most intense events experienced in the state in recent decades. The seismic movement was strongly felt across most of the region and caused significant damage to homes and infrastructure, as well as loss of life and injuries, leaving a clear lesson about the importance of preparedness and response during emergencies.
An Exercise with Purpose
Participating in this statewide drill was more than just another activity on the calendar; it is a way to keep the culture of safety active and present within Citrojugo. Drills like this allow us to evaluate our evacuation protocols, response times, and internal coordination, while reinforcing among our team the importance of acting consciously and in an organized manner during a potential real emergency.
These types of exercises help ensure that each person clearly identifies evacuation routes, safe zones, and the steps to follow in the event of an earthquake, reducing risks and strengthening confidence among team members.
Safety as Part of Our Culture
At Citrojugo, we view workplace safety as a shared responsibility. The health of our team members and the well-being of everyone involved in our operations remain a constant priority. For this reason, we promote and participate in activities that go beyond meeting official guidelines and help foster a preventive mindset within our work environment.
Actions such as the statewide earthquake drill provide an opportunity to be better prepared, reflect on past experiences, and ensure that everyone understands their role when it comes to protecting lives.
