Citrojugo: Three-Time Champions of the Alcuzahue National Volleyball Tournament 2025

Citrojugo shines once again—not just in the citrus industry, but also on the court. This past weekend, our team claimed the title at the Alcuzahue National Volleyball Tournament 2025, earning their third consecutive championship in one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year.

Three days of tradition, sports, and community

Alcuzahue is not only a place of culture and history in Colima, but also the host of one of Mexico’s most iconic volleyball tournaments. For over 40 years, this event has brought together top teams from across the country during Holy Week, becoming a symbol of high-level competition and local pride.

This year, more than 200 people gathered at the Alcuzahue esplanade to witness the excitement of a tournament that never fails to deliver. From the very first matches, the atmosphere was filled with energy, dedication, and nonstop support from the crowd.

A memorable final and a dominant score

Citrojugo faced Sangre Nueva in what has become a classic final. Coached by Jorge and Lalo Barajas, the team displayed strength and precision in every play, winning the match in straight sets: 25–19 and 25–19. The crowd was on the edge of their seats, reacting to every powerful serve, block, and spike.

One of the standout performances came from Yanozki, a Cuban player who captured the crowd’s attention with every serve. But without a doubt, the highest honor went to Gabriel Cruz, Citrojugo’s own, who was named Best Player of the Tournament thanks to his skill, consistency, and leadership on and off the court.

Undefeated champions

Citrojugo dominated the competition, winning all their matches in straight sets—including key victories against San Francisco and Sangre Nueva. This flawless performance reflects the effort, consistency, and teamwork that define the Citrojugo family—on the court and in our day-to-day work.

More than sports: community and pride

The tournament was not only a sporting celebration but also a demonstration of how collaboration between companies, communities, and local talent can have a real impact. For us, these victories reflect our ongoing commitment to integral development, wellness, and creating spaces that promote personal and professional growth.

At Citrojugo, we congratulate every member of the team and thank all those who support and follow us. This championship belongs to all of us.
